Referral Pathway

For clinicians, therapists, educators, and allied professionals seeking adjunctive nervous-system and neurodivergent support for complex children, adults, or families.

An adjunct, not a replacement

Bottom-up support that sits alongside existing care.

Active Attunement may be suitable for clients who would benefit from bottom-up support through sound, movement, regulation skill building, and parental psycho-education. This work can sit alongside therapy, early intervention, education support, OT, speech therapy, psychology, paediatric care, trauma-informed psychotherapy, and other allied services.

Behaviour is communication. When the nervous system speaks to safety, the body can release and repair, the brain can rewire for success.

When to refer

Active Attunement may be a good fit when

A child or family is stuck in dysregulation, sleep disruption, transition anxiety, school refusal, sensory overwhelm, persistent stress, self-injury or behavioural escalation.
An adult client understands internal states cognitively but remains stuck in overwhelm, shutdown, persistent stress or patterns of behaviour disrupting quality of life measures.
A parent needs practical support to interpret behaviour through a nervous-system lens.
The client may benefit from sound, movement, breath and regulation practices alongside existing care plans.
The client is contraindicated for any further medical interventions, is non-speaking or has other mobility constraints that prevent exploration of other pathways.

How collaboration works

Coordinated, respectful, clearly scoped.

Referrals are reviewed personally. Where the work proceeds, Katy is happy to coordinate respectfully with the existing care team; within the limits of express consent, scope, and what is genuinely useful to the client.

Initial referral enquiry personally reviewed.
Consented communication with the referring professional where appropriate.
Data sharing of clinical testing — with explicit patient consent.
Clear scoping of the nervous-system program work and integration to existing care.
All parties retain the right to review terms of engagement without notice.

Active Attunement does not provide medical prescriptions, legal advice, crisis care, family court reports or nutrition plans. This work is not a replacement for medical paediatric, psychiatric, emergency, or legal advice.

For referring professionals. Active Attunement is an adjunctive pathway. Clients in acute crisis, requiring immediate diagnostic assessment, or requiring residential care outside this scope should be referred to the appropriate emergency service.
